What this pipe is

John Brumfit Great British Classics Apple is a complete smoking pipe, not a Falcon-style interchangeable bowl. The Apple shape has a rounded, plump bowl. The thicker walls help absorb heat during a normal smoke.

The series is made for adult pipe smokers who want classic British shapes without a high collector price. Pipes are hand-finished in Italy from briar burl, fitted with a black vulcanite stem and a fishtail mouthpiece. There is no filter.

This page is the straight Apple. Bent Apple and other Great British Classics shapes are different products.

Sold to adults aged 18 and over only where age checks apply to the order.

Why the Apple shape is searched

Apple is one of the most common classic pipe shapes. Adult beginners often start with it because the rounded bowl sits comfortably in the hand. Experienced smokers use it as an everyday pipe in a rotation.

John Brumfit briar pipe and Great British Classics Apple pipe are the searches that belong on this page. Billiard, Dublin, Bulldog and other shapes in the same series should stay on their own listings.

How to use and break in

1. Run a pipe cleaner through the stem before the first smoke.
2. Pack pipe tobacco evenly. Do not overpack.
3. Light gently and smoke slowly.
4. For the first few bowls, smoke only part way down to build a light carbon cake.
5. Empty the ash, let the pipe cool fully, then run a cleaner through again.

Do not smoke the pipe back to back without cooling. Keep a second pipe in rotation if you smoke more than once a day.
